Activities in LEMA

Development of Advanced Power Converters

At the LEMA it is carried out the development of a advanced power electronic structure such as matrix converters and high current converters.

Matrix converter

This activity is aimed to the realization of prototypes of  power stages, drivers and control systems for matrix converters.

High current converters

This activity is aimed to the realization of power electronic converters, with high current capability (>500A) and low voltage (<100V) to be used for the following applications:

-   drives for electric motor in battery powered vehicles
-
converters for advanced generation systems like photovoltaic panels and fuel cells.

The development activities in this field are aimed to the realization of a complete converter: power stage, drivers, control system.

The following pictures show some prototypes of converters realized in LEMA within a SPINNER project financed by Regione Emilia Romagna.
