Fiorenzo Filippetti
 

Short bio

Fiorenzo Filippetti was born in Fano, Italy, in 1945. He finished his high school in 1965. He received the Master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, in 1970. In 1976 he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Bologna, as an Assistant Professor. He is currently an Associate Professor of Electrotechnics at the University of Bologna. From 1977 to 1981, He was Adjoint Professor of Electrotechnics at the University of Ancona, Ancona Italy and from 1993 to 2002, Adjoint Professor of Electrotechnics and Electrical Drive at the University of Parma, Parma Italy. He spent several short term visiting periods at the University Claude Bernad, Centre de Génie Electrique de Lyon (CEGELY), Lyon, France. During 1998 he was a Member of the Scientific Council of CEGELY. Professor Filippetti has been the advisor of various Ph.D. and M.S. students. He has authored or coauthored more than 120 scientific papers and one textbook. He is the holder of an industrial patent. His main research interests include the simulation and modeling of electric circuits and systems and the study and application of diagnostic techniques to electric circuits and systems. Professor Filippetti is a member of steering committees of various international conferences and received the Oral Presentation Best Paper Award at the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Conference, IAS'2000, Rome, Italy. Prof. Filippetti is a registered professional engineer in the province of Bologna, a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a member of the Italian Association of Electric and Electronics Engineers (AEI) and the European Consortium for Research on Condition Monitoring of Electric Systems and Drives (CRCM)
